Hi, I’m Lewy.

For a long time, the streets of Lewiston were all I knew. I lived in a big colony of cats, doing my best to survive the cold, the hunger, and the fear that came with every day. Right before the big storm hit, things were getting worse… and then everything changed. Sullivan Sanctuary of Maine rescued me just in time, with help from their partners at Gobies Legacy Sanctuary. They saw me — really saw me — when I needed it most.

I’m about five or six years old, and my body carries the story of those years outside. My teeth ache, my ears were infected, my eyes were sore and runny, and I might be fighting a respiratory infection. But now I’m warm. I’m safe. I’m getting medicine, soft beds, and gentle hands that make me feel cared for in a way I never knew was possible. Soon I’ll be neutered and have dental surgery so I can finally feel healthy and comfortable again.

There are still so many cats out there living the way I did — cold, scared, and waiting for someone to notice them. Sullivan Sanctuary of Maine and Gobies Legacy Sanctuary are working together to get as many kitties off the streets of Lewiston as they can, but they can’t do it alone.
